Dr. Shima Amelgharib

DMD, DDS, M.Sc., FRCD(c), Diplomate American Board of Pediatric Dentistry -Pediatric Dentist

As a mother of two and a healthcare provider, DR.Shima understands that children require extra care, time and attention during a dental visit. She is a strong believer in prevention rather intervention, and chooses to take a conservative approach whenever possible.
After graduating from the college of dentistry at the university of Manitoba
in 2012, she practiced general dentistry for two years before pursuing her
true passion-dentistry for children. Dr.Shima wanted to become an expert
in Children so she spent 3 extra years studying at the University of Manitoba in order to become a board certified pediatric dentist. During this time, she also received a Masters of Science by completing research in Pediatric dental trauma. Dr.Shima is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric dentist.

Dr. Amanda Huminicki

DMD, M.Sc., B.Sc. (Dent), FRCD(c), Diplomate American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Amanda Huminicki is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is passionate about children’s dental health, and enjoys helping little ones feel comfortable at the dentist. She is from Winnipeg and did her undergraduate education at the University of Manitoba followed by dental school, graduating in 2009 with Honours, and practiced as a general dentist in Winnipeg for 3 years. She then completed her 3-year specialty program in pediatric dentistry at the University of Manitoba and graduated in 2015 with her M.Sc. (Master of Pediatric Dentistry). She then worked as a pediatric dentist in Winnipeg in private practice and at Children’s Hospital with WRHA privileges, and as an instructor at the U of M in the graduate pediatric dentistry specialty program. She has published two scientific articles and has presented her dental research at international conferences including in Australia and USA. In 2017 Dr. Amanda and her husband moved to Toronto for her husband to complete a residency program at University of Toronto, and she worked as a private practice pediatric dentist in the GTA for 6 years. Now, Dr. Amanda is excited to be back in her home town of Winnipeg. In her spare time she enjoys running, reading, snowboarding, and spending quality time with her family and friends and two cats. Dr. Nida Amir

DDS, M.Sc., FRCD(c),
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Nida Amir is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She
loves working with children, and her philosophy is to treat each child like her own. She graduated from dental school in Pakistan with a Gold medal and Honours for first  position. She immigrated to Canada in 2012 and went to McGill University and then to
University of British Columbia for her Fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry. She trained at BC Children’s hospital, where she specialized in hospital dentistry, treating children under
general anesthesia, mild to moderate sedation, and special-needs dentistry.
During her free time Dr. Amir loves spending time with her boys, being active and cooking. She loves watching movies and exploring the world with her family. She is
actively involved in her community and helps organize events to create dental care awareness. Dr Amir has been actively involved in volunteer work in Canada and abroad.

Dr. Amir Shah

DDS, M.Sc., FRCD(c),
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Amir Shah is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist, a Fellow of Royal
College of Dentists of Canada, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He started his dental career in Pakistan,
graduated with Honors and 3 Distinctions. Later, he attained a Diploma in Public Health from Deakin University Melbourne, Australia. He immigrated to Canada in 2012 and went to McGill University for advance education in Dentistry and a master’s degree in Oro-Facial Sciences. Subsequently he went
to Boston Massachusetts for advance training in Pediatric Dentistry and
graduated summa cum laude. He became proficient in managing medically complex patients and facial trauma. Additionally, he completed a rotation at Boston Children’s Hospital affiliated with Harvard University. In recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, Dr. Shah was awarded an honorary membership of Tri-Alpha Society of Boston University.
Following residency, he returned home (Manitoba) to private practice.

Dr. Shah is passionate about helping patients feel empowered to control their oral health. He loves helping nervous patients get their smiles back. When he is not treating patients, you can usually find him exploring nature, outdoors activities and spending time with family.
